Directorate: Assurance
SALARY : R261 372 per annum
CENTRE : Head Office, Cape Town

REQUIREMENTS : Minimum educational qualification: Higher Certificate (NQF Level 5) in Office

admin/finance/business/Administration qualification (or equivalent).

Experience: Appropriate experience. Inherent requirement of the job: A valid
(Code B/EB) driver’s licence and

willingness to travel throughout the Western

Cape. Competencies (knowledge/skills): Excellent interpersonal,

communication and organisation skills. Excellent writing and grammatical

skills, such as editing and formulating of documents. Ability to function

independently and with confidence. Good team building skills within and

outside the Occupational Health and Safety, Quality Assurance Component
and Directorate Assurances. Client and

task orientated. A sound knowledge of
Occupational Health and Safety Act 85 of 1993 and relevant regulations. A

sound knowledge of Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Disease Act
130 of 1993. Ability to efficiently operate

computer programmes such as
Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and E-mail. Ability to communicate in at

least two of the three official languages of the Western Cape.

Recommendation: Diploma/ Degree in Office

DUTIES : (key result areas/outputs): Management of OHS Administrative functions of the

Unit, Maintain an efficient and effective office management system.
Procurement of Goods and Services and Management of the Expenditure for

the occupational health service. Accurate statistical reports on the Quality of
OHS Service Delivery. Respond to enquiries and obtain the relevant

administrative records to attend to the enquiries. Comprehensive
administrative support to the

OHS/QA/Assurance colleagues on matters
related to the OHS function of the

Department. To act as Coordinator and
Secretariat for meetings/ workshops of the occupational health service for

organizational purposes. Perform office support service effectively and
professionally. Human Resource

Management as it relates to the supervision

of support staff, where applicable, and assist with the management of the
duties of the division.
