Grade 12 or equivalent. Basic R425 qualification (Diploma/degree in nursing) or equivalent that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse. Registration with SANC as a Professional Nurse. The following will be added advantage: A minimum of two (2) years of appropriate experience/ recognizable experience in nursing after registration as a Professional Nurse with SANC in General Nursing.
Provision of optimal, holistic nursing care with set standards and within a professional/legal framework. Demonstrate an understanding of nursing legislation and related legal and ethical nursing practices.
Perform clinical nursing practice in accordance with the scope of practice and nursing standards as determined by the institution. Promote quality of nursing care. Responsible for staff, patients, and community education regarding organ donation and transplantation.
Expected to do public awareness and donor identification. Supervise and ensure the provision of effective transplant services through adequate nursing care, and utilization of human, material, and physical resources. Be prepared to assist with the procurement of resources needed in the transplant unit.
Work as part of the multidisciplinary team to ensure the objectives of the unit are met. Submit reports and statistics. Implement and promote Quality Assurance, Infection Prevention and Control, and Occupational Health and Safety principles. Maintain professional, ethical standards and self-development, promoting the image of the nursing profession and the hospital.

The information on the new Z83 must be in sync with the Curriculum Vitae.

Personnel Suitability Checks (PSC) –Verification (Reference checks- Provide at least 3 of which one must be an immediate supervisor and must be contactable, the Department shall reserve the right to conduct verification beyond names provided, where necessary.
