Accounting Clerk

Position: Accounting Clerk (Ref No: CSP/20/2023)
Salary: R202 233 per annum
Location: Pretoria

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 certificate or equivalent
  • Basic knowledge of financial functions, data capture, and financial stats collation
  • Basic knowledge of Public financial legislations, procedures, and treasury regulations
  • Knowledge of financial operating systems (PERSAL, BAS, LOGIS, etc.)
  • Understanding of legislative framework governing the Public Service
  • Computer literacy
  • Planning and organizing, interpersonal, and good verbal and written communication skills
  • Confidentiality, time management, and ability to work under pressure

Accounting Clerk Duties:

  • Process financial accounting transactions: receive, check, verify, and approve invoices, process payments
  • Provide salary administration support: process salary advices, check correctness, capture salaries, bonuses, adjustments, deductions, etc.
  • Perform bookkeeping support: capture financial transactions, clear suspense accounts, record debtors and creditors, process electronic banking transactions, compile journals
  • Render budget support: collect information from budget holders, compare expenditure against budget, identify variances, capture and allocate veriments on budget, receive and capture cash payments
