Administration Officer: Demand Management

Position: Administration Officer: Demand Management (SCM) (Ref No: 2023/332)
Contract: 36 Months Contract
Salary: R294 321 per annum
Centre: Cape Town Regional Office


  • Three-year tertiary qualification (NQF Level 6) in Supply Chain Management/Procurement/Public Management/Public Administration
  • Relevant supply chain experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of government procurement systems and relevant legislation
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Good interpersonal and diplomacy skills
  • Analytical thinking, decision making, problem solving, presentation, planning, organizing, and statistical skills
  • Basic MS Office computer literacy
  • Ability to establish and maintain networks
  • Adaptability to work schedule as per office requirements
  • Candidates expected to undergo competency test

Administration Officer Duties:

  • Provide administrative support in research and needs analysis for the Department
  • Consult with relevant stakeholders to determine challenges, opportunities, and risks
  • Review previous procurements and analyze identified needs
  • Develop procurement proposals based on research results
  • Collect and collate information for the Department’s Annual Procurement Plan
  • Assist in drafting specifications and identifying implementation of preference points system
  • Provide secretariat support to Committees and general admin and supervision services to the unit
  • Organize committee meetings and provide secretariat services
  • Check compliance on submissions to SCM committee and perform quality control
  • Provide information on audit queries and update relevant database
