  • Minimum of a Grade 12 certificate or equivalent.
  • At least three years of experience in administration processes.
  • A relevant formal qualification in Administration will be advantageous.
  • Proficient in computer skills.
  • Strong communication, verbal, and reporting abilities.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills.
  • Thorough understanding of regulations governing patient administration, PFMA, Treasury regulations, public service Acts, UPFS, Records Management Acts, PAIA, and National core standards.
  • Capable of working effectively under pressure.
  • Willingness to work shifts, including public holidays and weekends.

Administration Officer (Registry) Responsibilities:

  • Oversee staff and activities related to patient care in the administration department.
  • Manage the Registry, Archives, Client Information, and Linen Departments in compliance with relevant Acts, regulations, and policies.
  • Handle records management in accordance with relevant Prescripts, Records Management Acts, and PAIA.
  • Ensure proper maintenance and effective use of equipment.
  • Plan, coordinate, and provide efficient administrative support for all operational functions.
  • Manage an efficient booking system.
  • Handle staff contracts, performance appraisals, and training in line with PMDS.
  • Submit regular reports to management.
  • Address grievances, complaints, conflicts, and queries within the department, applying disciplinary measures when necessary.
  • Perform any other duties delegated by the supervisor.

Candidates with foreign qualifications must provide an evaluation certificate from the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA). Personnel Suitability Checks (PSC) – Verification (Reference checks) will be conducted. Failure to submit all relevant information may result in disqualification.

Medical surveillance may be required for the recommended candidate as per the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Act 5/1993. Candidates must be available for selection interviews on the date, time, and place determined by the Department.
