Job Title:
Assistant Director: Misconduct, Disputes and Grievances

Salary: R424,104 per annum (Level 09)
Centre: Department of the Premier, Western Cape Government

Requirements:

  • 3-year National Diploma/B-Degree in Labour Relations, Human Resource Management, or Law
  • Minimum 3 years supervisory experience in Labour Relations or similar
  • Recommendation: Valid driving license (Code B or higher)

Competencies:

  • Extensive knowledge of national and provincial human resources management legislation
  • Mentoring, coaching, and staff performance management
  • Disciplinary and grievance procedures
  • Labour Relations Act and other relevant labor relations prescripts
  • Skills in communication, networking, facilitation, negotiation, and computer literacy

Duties:

  • Supervision and unit operational planning
  • Participation in strategic planning
  • Monitoring and managing day-to-day workflow
  • Administering staff appraisal system/process
  • Training and development
  • Expenditure control of budget
  • Assisting Counsel in Review matters
  • Handling and supervising misconduct, grievances, and disputes
  • Implementing measures to prevent labor unrest
  • Providing advice on misconduct, disputes, and grievance matters
