Introduction:
The client is seeking a dedicated and professional Driver Trainer to join their team.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate pre-employment driving assessments as part of the recruitment process.
  • Train new drivers on using various onboard equipment such as Roro system, Skip system, and Compactor truck system.
  • Induct newly appointed drivers on the company’s driver policy.
  • Provide training to new drivers on the Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Conduct annual driver assessments and prepare report-style feedback for management.
  • Maintain proper records of all assessments conducted.
  • Train new drivers on main routes, customer requirements, and landfill procedures.
  • Instruct new drivers on completing company paperwork to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Provide training on conducting vehicle inspections to promote safety and prevent breakdowns.
  • Train and assess existing drivers on a rotational basis or as needed.
  • Adhere to Occupational Health and Safety Act, company policies, and road regulations.

Desired Experience & Qualification:

  • Must possess a valid Code 14 driver’s license with a valid Professional Driving Permit (PRDP).
  • A Professional Driving national certificate is required.
  • Registered assessor status is necessary.
  • Strong report writing skills are essential.
  • Thorough understanding of the National Road Traffic Act is expected.
  • Proficiency in the full Microsoft suite is required.
  • 3-5 years of experience working in a training environment.
  • Possession of a Dangerous Goods license would be advantageous.
  • Motivated and focused on a career in training.
  • Excellent communication skills in English (speaking, reading, and writing).
  • Willingness to work overtime when necessary.
  • Good health is a prerequisite.
  • Hands-on practical approach to the job.
  • Sober habits are required.
