Develop floor plans based on new space elasticity measures / optimised category assortments by format / cluster at store level. Maintains and optimises floor plans / merchandise flows on floor planner in JDA Information Knowledge Base (IKB).
Duties & Responsibilities
Macro Space Strategy:
Translate space hurdle rates / elasticity model recommendations / customer missions in the individual store plans according to current macro space thinking regarding the space allocation and flow requirements.
Assortment:
Input into Category reviews and cross-functional teams reviews with Macro Space Analyst to identify and provide data/reports.
Macro Space Planning and Planograms:
1. Macro
Maintain Macro Space master data and floor plans for all stores on the floor planning system (currently JDA Floor Planner).
Complete floor plans according to the new and revamp store programme.
Ensure all merch flows are maintained in the Floor Planner tool and develop methodologies to keep them updated periodically (typically biannually) and as job briefs are approved.
Support the Macro space requirements of category roll-out projects.
Measure and track implemented space adjustments on measured metrics
2. Micro
Input into Micro Space reviews and advise on any space planning issues and concerns to Micro Space Analyst
Ensure planograms are built according to revised store merchandise space, adjacency and hurdles rates. Feedback to Micro space team being mindful of the category strategic role (taking into account destination, routine, traffic).
Store Execution:
Ensure clear collaboration and communication of approved changes for implementation via the Competency Centres and Regional Teams.
Competitor analysis:
Conduct competitor store visits with Space Analyst and analyse competitors’ space allocations and adjacencies in order to identify possible areas of improvement.
Ensure macro space thinking is consistently applied using revised space elasticity model. Ensure LightStone, competitor, Nielsen data; smart shopper data, and customer insights are considered when developing merch flows.
Reports:
Input into post-launch analysis for stores and present compliance to the Space Analyst / Head of Macro Space to review any anomalies and opportunities.
Minimum Requirements
University degree preferably numerical/commercial
Knowledge of Business Intelligence systems
1 – 2 years FMCG or Retail experience
Knowledge of Retail Merchandise principles
Prior floor planning experience will be an advantage
Experience in working with JDA and Dot Active software tools
