Registrar’s Clerk

Position: Registrar’s Clerk (Ref No: 2023/297/OCJ)
Salary: R202 233 – R235 611 per annum
Centre: Gauteng Division of High Court: Johannesburg
Registrar’s Clerk Requirements:
- Matric Certificate or equivalent qualification
- Computer skills
- Good communication skills (written and verbal)
- Good interpersonal and public relations skills
- Good administration and organisational skills
- Customer Service skills
- Ability to work under pressure
- Additional Competencies (advantageous): paralegal qualification, knowledge of court process and procedure
Duties:
- Provide efficient and effective support services to the court
- Issue court processes at the General office
- Perform case management duties
- Render counter service duties/functions
- Prepare, analyze, and submit court statistics
- Maintain and keep all registers for civil and criminal matters
- File and archive both civil and criminal processes
- Attend to case management and set down notices
- Act as a liaison between Judges and Legal Practitioners
- Requisition accused persons from prison
- Handle correspondence and inquiries from the public and stakeholders
- Prepare and send cases to transcribers for appeal and review purposes
- Attend to complaints from prisoners and the public
- Administrative duties for mental health, petition, review, and appeal matters
- Allocate records and documents to judges
- Serve documents to the NPA’s office
- Submit monthly criminal trial statistics and full Bench Appeal statistics
- Search files from archives
